Filter Search Results

Avantis offers powerful tools to sort, multi-sort, filter, and group your columns. For the most effective use, we recommend paying special attention to Grouping Your Search Results (see Grouping Search Results). Below are step-by-step instructions to help you get started with filtering your search results.

Important Note: Filtering your view vs narrowing your search

  1. Filtering only filters among the options already displayed in your result grid
  2. Filtering does not re-run your search and retrieve any new results from the server - it only limits your view of the results you are already seeing
  3. Filtering will never display any new results not already in your grid
  4. To get new results not currently displaying in your grid, narrow your criteria selections up top and re-run your search

  1. Quick filter in grid
  2. Expanded filter options
  3. Type ahead to filter by text
  4. Search to find values
  5. Build compound filtering commands
